Holliston, Massachusetts

Kids belong outside.

Pack 2 is Holliston's Cub Scout pack for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. We build derby cars, launch rockets, sleep in tents, and march in the Memorial Day parade — together, as families.

What a year looks like

One pack, six dens, and a whole lot of weekends worth showing up for.

Cub Scouting is not a sport with a season. It runs September through June, it works around your family's schedule, and there is no bench. Come to what you can.

October

Fall Campout

One weekend, every den, tents in a field. Campfire, cooking, and a hike before breakfast.

Early November

Pumpkin Chuck

Engineering with a very satisfying payoff. Build a launcher, chuck a pumpkin, measure the damage.

Winter

Pinewood Derby

The one everybody knows. Carve a car, race it down the track, learn something about friction.

Spring

Bike Rodeo

Safety checks, helmet fitting, and a skills course. Ends with everyone riding better than they arrived.

Late spring

Rocket Launch

Build it, paint it, launch it, chase it. Ends the year with an actual countdown.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day Parade

Pack 2 marches with the town every Memorial Day. Uniforms pressed, flags up, and no goofing around.

Find your den

Scouts move up a rank every year, and the adventures grow with them.

Dens are grouped by grade. Your Scout joins the den that matches the grade they are entering in September and moves up with the same friends each year.

Lion

Kindergarten

An adult partner comes along for every adventure. Short meetings, big fun, first taste of the outdoors.

Tiger

1st grade

Still side by side with a grown-up, but Tigers start earning their own belt loops and leading parts of the meeting.

Wolf

2nd grade

Wolves work more independently: knife safety, first aid basics, and their first real campouts with the pack.

Bear

3rd grade

Bears build, cook, and take on bigger outdoor challenges. This is the year the Pinewood Derby gets serious.

Webelos

4th grade

"We'll Be Loyal Scouts." Webelos start working with Scouts BSA troops and plan more of their own program.

Arrow of Light

5th grade

The highest rank in Cub Scouting and the bridge into a Scouts BSA troop. Arrow of Light Scouts lead the younger dens.

Join us

New families are welcome all year.

Most families join in September, but a Scout can start any month. Come to a meeting first and see whether it clicks — there is no obligation and nothing to buy on the way in.
